A short three months ago our baby turned two. How in the world did this little baby
get to be two years old? you wonder. Yea...me too.
But she is. And way back in May we celebrated this little lady with a little fox party.
We decked out the wall with a garland and vase of pinwheels
We invited a fox in socks {and some other foxy family}
We put out food we thought our woodland friends might like: seeds & rocks...
s'mores on a stick...
sticks & dip...
and cake {because even woodland friends love cake}
Once the decorations and food were ready, it was time to dress {and wake from her nap} the guest of honor. Evie put on her special birthday shirt,
clipped her hair back with her new fox bow
and came downstairs to greet her guests and meet her new friend, Trot.
As the party began, Jack eyed the cake longingly. Who could blame him? It's hard to resist dark chocolate peanut butter cake. With the promise of rich decadence to come,
Jack joined the rest of the party to see Evie open the gifts her guests brought. Grandma got to be Evie's special helper at first.
And Wes got to read Evie the cards.
But when it came down to it, she had no problem taking care of business herself to get to the surprise inside those lovely packages.
After singing a big round of "happy birthday", Evie {and Jack} enjoyed their birthday cake and the company of family for the rest of the evening.
On the day she turned two, Evie helped me sing her a special birthday song. She helped at her party too, but this is the version we caught on video. Enjoy!
Oh, Miss Evie Grace! You fill our lives with immeasurable joy, endless laughter and an ever-deepening awe of the One who created you. God knit you into our family and our hearts two short years ago, but you've already given us a lifetime of wonderful memories. We love you.
