New Names

It seems we'll be searching for two new names; one for our blog and one for the daughter we'll welcome at the end of December (okay, how many of you thought I was going to announce twins?). At our ultrasound today everything with the baby seemed to be right on track (measurements indicate she weighs 10 ounces) and she appears to be healthy. We are praising God for His wonderful gifts and divine providence.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our baby poll and congratulations to all those who guessed girl. You don't win anything. Just be happy you were right.

Oh - and we're open to suggestions on names for the blog or the baby.

Congratulations - this is great news! We are looking forward to seeing you next weekend. I was one of those that guessed right. Love you!

Again... I am so excited you're having a girl!! I'm almost surprised by how excited I am to have a girl around. I have so many little boys in my life - and boy are they cute - but can't wait for you to have a girlie!!

No creative names yet... I can't give you any of my baby girl names :) Do you think you'll use any family names?

Auntie Lorie!

Maybe you should've let people know when you started the poll that there wouldn't be prizes for the winners!
Good grief...

And I guessed right too! (Believe it or not!)

Martha was the wife of our first president. She will be born around election time.

Eve was the first woman - and it can't get much shorter.

Sue is my mother's name. How about Sue?

How about "Three Men, a Lady and a Baby"

Jillian Buttercup, huh? What does Jack think? He's always good with coming up with new names!
I would have to agree with Lorie. I know what you SHOULDN'T use because it's the name John and I hope to use some day.

Ooooh a girl, how exciting. Julia's a pretty name (plus Amanda Lundquist just named her baby that!) I like Eva and Sophie too. (Hopefully I didn't say of the names you liked ladies!) I'm excited for your family, Beckie! I did not take the poll, but I would have guessed boy, so luckily there's no prize to be lost for me! :)

Hannah is nice and if I remember correctly was the prophet Samuel's mother..the name means favor/grace.

Full House would be one choice for the blog seeing as you will have 3 boys and 2 girls, but it kind of implies that either you like poker, or are obsessed with the show Full House, so maybe not then...

I wouldn't be mad at you if you decided to name your first daughter after me. I know you were secretly asking permission on this blog, so I'll set the record straight and say yes... you can name your child Lorie. :)

But seriously... I do also really like Julia (as holly suggested). Other names that I like I'll probably be keeping for myself! :) Keep us posted!

I really like Eve and Eva. Sean thinks those are too old fashioned, like we'd be having a grandma instead of a baby. My favorite has been vetoed so the search is on. I want something unique and traditional - a hard combo, I know. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Oh...Jillian Buttercup comes from a combination of the "matches" for our boys: Jack & Jill and Wesley & Buttercup. Just a temporary name until we do the impossible and agree on something.

Ooh, I like Eve/Eva...I also really like Ava, which is similar but doesn't have quite the old lady feel..whaddya think?

I like Ava. What does Sean think of that? Is that close enough to Eve, Bec? Julia is okay, but seems to be a very popular name lately.
